What is visa retrogression?
Sometimes, a priority date that is current one month will not be current the next month, or the cut-off date will move backward to an earlier date. Visa retrogression generally occurs when the annual limit for a category or country has been exhausted or is expected to run out soon. Can H1B Visa stamping be done from India now
With the large backlogs, even obtaining dropbox appointments may be problematic. You do not require a visa if you are in status in the US on an accepted H-1B petition or comparable circumstances. A visa is only required if you leave the US and return. So, it’s best to travel at a later date for visa stamping on H1 vsas.

Can a temporary visitor stay in the US?

In doing so, the officer will inform the traveler of the permitted length of stay. The current change in visa validity does NOT change the permitted duration of stay for any visa class.
