After the final rule goes into effect on January 4, 2010, HIV-positive visa applicants will no longer be ineligible to receive visas under Section 212(a)(1)(A)(i) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA.)
Can I migrate to the US if I have HIV?
This rule established that HIV infection is no longer defined as a communicable disease of public health significance and testing for HIV infection is no longer required as part of the U.S. immigration medical screening process. Additionally, HIV infection no longer requires a waiver for entry into the United States.
Is HIV test required for visa?
HIV Certificates for Visas and Employers HIV Certificates are required by many countries as part of their entry requirements for visas. This is normally for a work visa, or visas for visits that are for lengthily periods of time. The certificate is required at the visa application stage.
