As a Canadian citizen, you do not need a visa stamp in your passport - the I-797 approval notice should be sufficient (though it is always a good idea to carry a copy of the petition with you, just in case, and proof of current employment with the sponsor, if you have already started working for them).

I agree with the previous lawyers' responses. As a Canadian citizen you are not required to obtain an H-1B visa stamp in your passport before entering the U.S. You will be admitted to the US for the validity period of your H-1B status (unless your passport expires earlier).
