Does the UK interview for a visa?
As far as I am aware, the UK doesn’t routinely interview applicants for such visas. Applicants for UK visas usually attend visa application centres (VAC) in their countries, not embassies (there is even no such thing as British Embassy in Nigeria, it’s called British High Commission because Nigeria is a Commonwealth country). The VAC staff only take the applicant’s documents, photo and fingerprint. They can’t approve or deny a visa themselves, this decision is taken by UKVI in another location, usually in the UK. The VAC retains a passport to put a visa sticker there if a visa is approved, but you won’t know the decision before you get your passport back.
