Can I use a copy of I-797?
Its little confusing because some sites are suggesting to go with original I797 and some say that a copy is fine because all the visa officer needs is a recepit number. Please can someone confirm? Thanks. Original I-797 is no longer required. There will not be an I-797 without any suffix.

We would strongly recommend to postpone your travel and wait for the original i797 approval notice. When you go for Visa stamping in the US embassy, the visa officer does have access to all your information and H1B application (including its status). They may or may not ask for real proof.
