Passengers with a consular letter specifying why the test could not be taken are also exempt. All passengers are also subject to testing for COVID-19 and must undergo a 14-day quarantine. Most visas and visa exemptions are currently suspended. Passengers with a single or multiple-entry visa issued on or before 2 April 2020 by Japanese Embassies or Consulates General in Australia, New Zealand and Taipei Kaohsiung offices of Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association are also permitted entry.
