You have to either use it for the exact amount or less than in order to use it. So if you have as card for $25 and you buy something that is $25.01 you can not use the card.

Had a dispute for a minimal amount that was charged to my card via PayPal. Vanilla gift disputed the charge and told me I have to contact Pay Pal. Thank goodness only a small amount was on the card.
